firewall but couldn't. Tried to run disc defrag but it said I didn't have enough memory to run the programme!

Had a similar problem a while back.


Ended up investing (it is just that) in an external hard drive to keep files/folders/music, etc as back up storage. Also, try to burn music and stuff to discs. You'll free up a load of space on your hard drive, then you can defrag and get things moving a biut better.





Bear in mind this may take some time and you'd do well to get something like O %26amp; O Defrag which will do a great job and quicker than the Microsoft defrag program.





Also, if you don't back that stuff up soon, you'll end up losing it all when it crashes on you anyway.
Reply:I agree with jinz. Shift your big resource users, like music %26amp; photos etc, to storage elsewhere, whether it be on disks, flash drives or an external hard drive. Uninstall any programs you no longer need or use. Run Ccleaner (which you can download for free) to deal with any residual c rap. I presume you have a good anti-virus prog and a good anti-malware prog?





The built in (via Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools) disk cleaner and defrag should then run well and tidy it up for you.

Reply:i am not shur about the zone alert problem but i have a new laptop i take it your is a older model so try to git more flash memory it is easy to install and it is cheap 1 gig for 50 to 100 dallors(us) will put new life in your computer.
Reply:Take some of the stuff off some of the unnessary files from your computer and it will probably run quicker, like some of the music from the memory.





Downloading to much stuff can cause it too. If you download try downloading 1-5 music songs, tv shows, movies etc.

Reply:Run disk cleaner and make some space first by removing unnecessary files. You need to have 20% space free to run the defrag.
